The Food Pantry of North Branford is located in the lower level of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church at 1382 Middletown Ave. in Northford. Its mission is to provide free supplemental groceries to those in need. The Board of Directors, the Pantry Director and all other staff are volunteers. 100% of all food and monetary donations are used for our clients. We are a member of the Connecticut Food Bank and receive free or low cost food from it. We have retail partnerships with Big Y and Ceccarelli Farm. Shopping is always client choice and we do not pre-package bags of food.
There are no financial qualifications. Customers must register each year per the state of Connecticut. Registering for the Food Pantry does not affect S.N.A.P. or any other state benefits. Customers may visit once per week on one of the following days
Wed. 4 - 6:30 pm
Fri. 10:30am-1 pm
Sat. 10 am-12:30 pm
There are donation baskets located in the foyer of both libraries and a red bin in the lobby of the STW Community Center Walk-in donations are welcome at the pantry during hours of operation. Items most needed are canned fruit, cereal, oatmeal and jelly. We accept personal care items. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept any packages that have been opened, have expired or are not in the original package. Everything must have a date on it. Monetary donations may be mailed to the FPNB at P.O. Box 403, North Branford, CT 06471.
Although the pantry is not handicapped accessible, a "proxy shopper" may shop for a registrant who would not be able to participate otherwise. Delivery is not available. Please call 203-208-2581 or visit our website at www.foodpantrynb.org for more information.
